BUTTERFLY PRINCESS
Far away in a land of mystical things,
Where clouds never rain on horses with wings,
Where the moon glows as bright,
As the sun at mid-day,
And all is made a’right,
By sounds of forest nymphs at play,
Where great birds fly past with flames on their feathers,
And butterflies dance free among the yews and the heathers,
Where waterfall echoes form a symphony,
As faeries dance in the air so lightly,
As towering giants fall off to sleep,
Watched o’er by a mountain top castle keep,
Where a lovely young princess rules o’er the land,
And soothes troubled all souls with her gentle hand,
Keeps her vigil on unicorns at play in the glen,
Her kingdom is a dream of which bards sing,
Where magic is no mystery when it does happen,
And sunlight paints joy on every living thing,
Where moonbeams play music on roses wet with morning dew,
And dragon wings flutter above to begin the day a-new,
Where flowers bloom year round under a big, bright blue sky,
And breezes whisper to trees of far away things,
Kingdoms of paradise to a young dreamer’s eye,
Ruled over by a princess with butterfly wings.
